I changed a lot since the last post, furnishing wise I mean.
It took me several hours actually... But I think its finally finished.
My next post will be after photos because I didn't take many after photos this time.
So we have the second story front facing porch area.
I placed a few chairs and benches and lights.
At this stage it looked pretty boring.
Very boring.
The nice hanging chair is from Bohemian Garden.
The other char is CC.
I added a coffee table and some plants to this area.
I love the look of these chair up next to the railing.
Its the perfect position to look down the street and watch the cars coming and going.
We will come back to these later because these photos are mostly chronological based on what I did in an area and when I thought I was finished with it.
I added more clutter items to the greenhouse area to fill up the shelves and potting bench.
This is the inside of the garage.
The lights are CC there are seven different parts to it and they can be combined in different ways.
Next the upstairs bedroom.
The loft bed is functioning and two different parts of CC.
I need to test the desk to make sure it functions.
But I am optimistic.
The wall hangings are Japanese style screens.
One painting is CC, the other is not.
I imagined this as a cool teen goth bedroom.
Its dark, moody and a complete fire hazard.
I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
Especially since its such a tiny space.
Next is the nursery.
It looks pretty pink in this shot.
But it is actually very colorful with lots of pale greens and blues.
I'm very pleased with it.
It took a while to figure out the dresser and shelf situation but eventually I found a suitable combination by changing the wood texture of the dresser to the plain white one in the miscellaneous category.
The curtains are pale green. They open during the day and close at night.
The walls are pastel polka dots.
Every baby room needs a pretty chandelier.
Its hard to get good angles of the nursery because its so small.
I'll try to take some better shots for next time.
I added a costume chest and a dollhouse to the porch outside the nursery.
There wasn't much room for toys besides the play table inside the room.
But I like to put toys outside on patios and porches so my sims actually use them.
Planters on the second floor porch were also a must.
Being up on the second floor protects them from zombies when I forget to turn the moon cycles off.
And lots of greenery and plant life can really liven up an otherwise uninspiring place.
Plus its outdoors, but not so outdoors that my gardener sims who hates the outdoors will completely hate to tend her garden.
She might even enjoy it somewhat.
Since they don't have room for a serious dining table inside, and I had so much porch space I didn't know what to do with it all, I decided to put a nice dining table outside.
I also put a small bistro table in front and some cat bowls to feed stray cats.
They don't have pride flags in the sims 3... But I think I got pretty close.
And even if its not completely accurate, it still looks nice with the other furnishings.
Here is a look at that welcome mat I mentioned in the last post.
The self above the fridge has an assortment of plants.
I put string lights in the trees. You can't see them so well in this image.
Its a little better in this one. I placed a fountain, a couple of Boho Garden poofs.
There is also a fire pit with CC chairs, a cart with wineglasses and a lemonade pitcher.
There are a few more cosmetic changes to the yard, porch and inside the garage.
But it was only a few essentials that needed to be added.
So lets meet the sims who will live here!
The sim in the picture above is Silvie Davies.
Her traits are: Shy, Handy, Genius, Eco-Friendly and Hopeless Romantic.
She is a Leo and her favorites are Electronica music, Sushi and the color Spice Brown.
Her Lifetime Wish is the be an Alchemy Artisan.
The next sim is her wife. Her name is Ramona McKraken.
Her traits are: Hates the Outdoors, Excitable, Green Thumb, Cat Person and Computer Whiz.
She is a Libra and her favorites are Classical music, Keylime Pie and the color Lime.
Her Lifetime Wish is to be a Cat Herder.
She is working on planting her garden in this photo.
Meanwhile Silvie learned the alchemy skill and decided to visit the elixir consignment store.
Honey and wax pieces you get from harvesting honey are very useful for creating alchemy elixirs.
Silvie and Ramona hugging.
Their faces were too cute so I had to take pictures.
See? Cute!
Because of her Computer Whiz trait, Ramona can hack at night.
I was sitting at my computer watching them sleep chanting "spoon spoon spoon."
And it worked.
So now I have to spam you with shots of these cuties spooning.
Ramona was taking a bath and I noticed... Her zombie contouring.
Yikes girl...
Silvie is a handy sim. So she will probably spend a lot of time repairing computers that Ramona will break from her hacking adventures.
But first I wanted her handiness skill up so she wasn't at so much risk for electric shock.
Upgrading the sinks and toilet seemed to help because she repaired our first broken laptop in record time.
Ramona isn't artistic, but painting is still a nice (and lucrative) hobby.
I took these shots because the shadows in the backyard looked...
Pretty amazing...
It might have been the full moon lighting (which I need to disable), but those shadows were just amazing.
This is another shot of the dresser in the master bedroom.
It was a dud because of the full moon lighting...
But at the same time I love the blurry, slightly green look of everything.
So while its not a good "after" shot, it is pretty nice visually.
