The Stardust Remodeling Co. - Pinkie Part 1

The Stardust Remodeling Co. headed by myself is busy in the process of remodeling a new sims home for a happy sim couple.

Before!
This is an EA original from Riverview - the free town from the Sims 3 store.
Seriously. Log on and click download, its yours.

This place was a dump.
An ugly dump.
An ugly baby poo colored dump.
All yellow green... Like dog diarrhea.
Or cat diarrhea.
You get it.

The yard leaves much to be desired.
Sooooo much.

But the interior layout is pretty decent.

Even if the flooring isn't.

And the dettached garage...

And iron railings on the porch....
Give this charming little home the feel of a New Orleans house in the French Quarter.

So of course it was love at first sight.
But I just can't handle having my sims live in ugly houses.
And this house is in serious need of a rehab....

Phase One of Remodel!

The first step was to fix the ugly roof.
But before I fixed the ugly roof...
I realized that this house was asymmetrical.

And I hate asymmetrical things.
I have OCD. And not in the joke way... Like literal OCD.
And one of my obsessions - the "O" of the OCD - is that everything (at least the things that I'm building) needs to be symmetrical.
I also prefer to build in nines because that's my number.
I would say favorite number... But its more than that... Its my number.

So my first job was to expand the right side of the house by one.
This involved foundation dragging.
And foundation building.
And frustrated screaming.
And slight hair loss.
But it was finally done.
And I was quite pleased with my perfectly symmetrical porch.

I deleted most of the front fences, for ease of building, I replaced the teeny tiny no-light-inside-like-that-Florence-and-the-Machine-song-windows.
I also put some custom content railings and move objected posts into positions to make them look like actual supports rather than random columns placed in the middle of the porch.
I redid the entire roof. Then I put some CC roofing tiles to replace whatever nonsense was there before.
I also made it pink.
Because pink is PUNK.
And also I really have a thing for pastel pink right now.
This is my third pastel pink house in the past two months.

The Clients!

I should have put these pictures first... But oh well.
So here we have our first sim.... I forget her first name but her last name is McKracken.
It was McKracken with a C....

But her... wife's last name is Davies.
Davies. McKracken.
Davy Kracken.
Davy Jones and the Kracken.
Pirates of the Caribbean.
Super cheesy.
But... It just felt like fate.
They were meant to be.
And I didn't pick these names either mind you, the name randomizer in create a sim picked them because I suck at making last names.

I'm super proud about how these cuties turned out.
I've been getting into in depth customization of sims faces... Ever since I got the nose masks and now their noses look nice, and the body sliders so now their bodies can have more shapes...
Now I'm working on eyes and cheekbones and jawbones.
And  I have to say I'm pleased with the results.

This has been the first part of Stardust Remodeling Co.
Eventually I'm going to finish the house and get to playing with these sims.
This blog might actually end up being a remodeling blog, because I'm really into building houses and its always challenging to remodel a premade home...
But who knows.
In the meantime, look out for part 2.
